The Sacraments

Sacrament of Baptism:

Infant Baptisms are celebrated on the second Sunday of each month during Mass and on the fourth Sunday of each month after the 10:30am Mass. Parents must contact the Baptismal Coordinator to make arrangements for completing Pre-Baptismal preparation and scheduling the Baptism.

Adult Baptisms are celebrated each year during the Easter Vigil liturgy. Adults interested in preparing for Baptism should contact the R.C.I.A. Director.

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.Matthew 28:19-20

Sacrament of Confirmation:

Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is completed by participation in either the Faith Formation or R.C.I.A. program. Children who prepare for Confirmation via the Faith Formation program will be Confirmed at the Cathedral. Adults who prepare for Confirmation in the R.C.I.A. program will be Confirmed during the Easter Vigil liturgy. 

In him you also, who have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and have believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, which is the first installment of our inheritance toward redemption as God's possession, to the praise of his glory. -Ephesians 1:13-14

Sacrament of the Eucharist:

The Eucharist is celebrated on:
  • Sundays at 8:30am and 10:30am
  • Mondays at 8:00am
  • Tuesdays at 8:00am
  • Wednesdays at 8:00am
  • Thursdays -Not Celebrated-
  • Fridays at 8:00am
  • Saturdays at 5:00pm - (Sunday Liturgy)

    For celebrations of First Communion

    Then he took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me." And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you. -Luke 22:19-20

Sacrament of Reconciliation:

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated each Saturday from 3:45pm until 4:45 pm in the church. The sacrament may also be celebrated by appointment by calling the parish office 585 247 3535.

For celebrations of First Penance

As the Father has sent me, so I send you."And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit.Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained." -John 20:21-23

Sacrament of Annointing of the Sick:

The Sacrament of Anointing is administered by the pastor upon request to all parishioners who are ill. Please feel free to contact parish office concerning the needs of the sick, hospitalized, or homebound. Those unable to attend Mass regularly due to illness may be anointed and have Holy Communion brought to them by a homebound minister.

Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint (him) with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.-James 5:14-15

Sacrament of Marriage:

Marriage preparation and scheduling of weddings must be completed at least six months in advance. Couples will be asked to attend the Pre-Cana Session in March or October and to participate in FOCCUS.

Sacrament of Holy Orders:

The Sacrament of Holy Orders may be celebrated at parishes within the diocese upon the completion of special training and formation by men preparing to serve the Church as deacons, priests and bishops.
