Interested in Becoming Catholic?
R.C.I.A. stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. The R.C.I.A. program at Holy Ghost Church is designed to assist those who are either considering becoming Catholic or are already Catholic and seeking to complete their initiation into the Church through the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation.
Although those who attend R.C.I.A. come from a variety of backgrounds, they are all responding to a common call to grow in their relationship with Christ through a deepening of faith and an ongoing conversion of heart. The program runs from mid-October to early-May, and culminates in the initiation of the R.C.I.A. Candidates into the Catholic Church at Easter Vigil.
During the Easter Vigil Mass, those who have been preparing in the R.C.I.A. program receive the Sacraments of Initiation they need to complete their journey into the Catholic Church. The R.C.I.A. classes, which meet weekly at the Holy Ghost Parish Center, serve both as a learning experience for teaching the Catholic faith and as a time for faith-sharing and reflection upon God's Call.
